Cambodia and Cuba have formalized their commitment to enhancing collaboration in the tourism sector through a recently signed Memorandum of Understanding (MoU). The agreement was signed in Siem Reap province by Cambodian Tourism Minister Huot Hak and Milena Caridad Zaldívar Piedra, Cuba’s Ambassador to Cambodia.
The MoU aims to create a framework for cooperation between the two nations’ tourism authorities. It focuses on promoting tourism development, facilitating the exchange of knowledge and experience, and expanding Cambodia’s tourism reach into Latin American markets. This collaboration is built on the principles of equality and mutual benefit, promising new opportunities for tourism cooperation between the two countries.
The agreement reflects the longstanding diplomatic relations between Cambodia and Cuba, which were established in 1960. Over the years, the two countries have maintained strong bilateral ties, and this latest development is seen as a step towards further strengthening those bonds through enhanced tourism interactions.
