Investors Pour $9.7 Billion into Jakarta, Leading Indonesia in Early 2026

In the first half of 2026, Jakarta solidified its position as Indonesia’s premier investment hub, amassing a total of Rp 173.6 trillion ($9.7 billion) in investments. This impressive sum includes Rp 106.5 trillion from domestic sources and Rp 67.1 trillion from foreign direct investment (FDI), underscoring a robust level of confidence from investors in the nation’s capital.

Breaking down the figures, the second quarter alone saw Jakarta drawing in Rp 94.9 trillion ($5.3 billion), representing 18.5% of Indonesia’s overall investment realization for that period. Within this, the city led the country in domestic investments, capturing Rp 58.6 trillion, while its foreign direct investment contributions stood at Rp 36.3 trillion, ranking it as the second most favored FDI destination in Indonesia.

The healthy investment climate in Jakarta is largely attributed to ongoing enhancements in the ease of doing business, improved public services, and a conducive environment for investment. These factors continue to make Jakarta an attractive option for investors both domestically and internationally, reflecting a well-maintained economic strategy by the city’s officials.

Meanwhile, West Java emerged as the second most lucrative region for investments nationwide, securing Rp 138.1 trillion during the same timeframe. This further highlights the competitive investment landscape across the archipelago, with Jakarta still leading the charge in terms of domestic and foreign investment appeal.
